Hello - I will be moving to the Philippines, a date has not been set. Before I move I am planning a visit with a friend. His concern is the quality of the food, he is basing this thought on his experiences in Mexico. I am hopeful the food will be good. When in a restaurant in the Philippines I hope I don't have to give the food a 2nd thought.

For me, to find Chicago or NY quality in the Philippines would be great. Not having good pizza is almost a reason not to move.

Chowking is my husband's favorite fast food too.. He says he's addicted to congee and halo halo and need to have at least a weekly fix of it.

If you ever go to Bicol/Legazpi City in South Luzon, DJC Halo Halo is a must try. It's the best halo halo I've tasted.. Their main branch is in Tiwi Albay and they also have a branch beside Pacific Mall in Legazpi.

Thanks for leaving me a comment in my blog post. :) Happy Blogging!

My favorite restaurant in Marinduque is Barbarosa, a German-Filipino restaurant in Gasan. It is owned by a german expat who married a local marinduequena. Their
specialty are german sausages and seafood pizza. The pizza is comparable to the pizza of Chicago or New York. The seafood pizza contains fish, clamps, squid and shrimps.. Makes my mouth water just writing this. I always take my guests there so that they can experienced a unique culinary experience while visiting Marinduque.

Hi Bob- Yes I am aware of Chowking being owned by Jollibee and I probably should've added that to the post but then again Jollibee is not my favorite place to eat.

Hi Dan - Not sure if you are aware, but Chow King is owned by Jollibee! So, you are really correct when you say that Chow King is doing the same thing as Jollibee with a different category of food!
